Coomera State Special School (CSSS) provides an educational program to support students from Years Prep-12 with a suspected or verified disability. Students who attend Coomera State Special School must have an intellectual disability as their primary disability. Students may have an additional disability including autism spectrum disorder, physical impairment, hearing or vision impairment.
For children of compulsory school age, enrolment is subject to the process outlined in Education Queensland's procedure, Enrolment in State Primary, Secondary and Special Schools (PDF, 309KB).
If families are seeking enrolment at CSSS and their child is currently enrolled in a Queensland State School (ECDP, Primary or High School), you must contact your current school team to discuss enrolment in a special school. They should be able to support you through conversations about enrolment for your child in a special school, discuss with you the suitability and enrolment criteria for a special school enrolment, and help you with next steps if you want to proceed.
If families are seeking enrolment at CSSS and their child is currently enrolled in an Independent/Private school or Kindy, or are relocating to Queensland from interstate, please contact the school for more information.
Students enrolled at Coomera State Special School may be eligible for transport assistance. Please contact the school for further information.
